The Field of Contemporary History examines the Ottoman State, and the social and cultural basins it interacts with through the global and local histories in the modern era. Our Field offers courses and conducts studies that critically and innovatively address the history of different segments of society through official and primary archival studies. Its research agenda consists of competent use of primary sources with a critical approach. The primary sources of Contemporary History are further supported by learning a second foreign language in addition to English.
